Our Mission
We seek to overcome the barriers that limit healthcare utilization by bringing doctors to patients to make the process of seeking healthcare convenient and increasing awareness through grassroots campaigns.
About Us
Founded in March of 2019 by Vishwaa Sofat, Direct Health Access is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization that aims to address the lack of health care utilization amongst minority and immigrant households. We strive to tackle socioeconomic barriers that prevent our community members from seeking proper medical help by:
- redefining access through health care camps that take place alongside pre-exisiting community events and bring healthcare professionals to patients;
- bridging the gap between insurance providers and consumers;
- educating individuals about diseases they are at risk for, healthy lifestyle habits, and the importance of preventative health care, all in the native languages of those communities.
